Criminal Justice Services

 

CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES provide a full range of mental health services for persons qualified for mental health services by Department of State Health Services standards and engaged with the criminal justice system.

ADULT CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS

Eligibility

  • Adults on felony probation in Montgomery County
  • Adults on parole in Montgomery, Walker, and Liberty County
  • Adults released from Montgomery County Jail on conditional bond for mental health treatment
  • Adult defendants in Montgomery, Walker, and Liberty County who are found by the court to be not legally competent to stand trial and diverted to outpatient competency restoration

Adult Criminal Justice Programs are not accessible by the general public; persons must first be referred to the program by a probation or parole officer, clinical staff performing mental health assessments in the jail, or by court officials/defense counsel for a defendant found not competent to stand trial.   Persons qualified for these programs are admitted without regard to ability to pay for the services.

JUVENILE JUSTICE PROGRAMS

Note: Juvenile Programs are operated by Tri-County Child and Adolescent Services

Eligibility

  • Assessment of Juveniles on parole from a Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) facility
  • Juveniles released from local detention on conditional bond or designated as a diversion from Texas Juvenile Justice Department detention

Juvenile Justice Programs are not accessible by the general public; juveniles must first be referred to the program by TJJD or by clinical staff performing mental health assessments in the Montgomery County detention facility.
